Terms of use

The fine print, kept short.

Effective 1 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the Spendfeed apps and spendfeed.app (together, “Spendfeed”). By installing or using Spendfeed you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Spendfeed.

In plain words
  • Spendfeed is a budgeting tool. It never holds or moves your money.
  • Its numbers are automated estimates, not financial advice. Check important things with your bank.
  • Spendfeed is in beta: features can change, and capture can occasionally miss or misread a transaction.
  • Splits and groups are free forever.
  • Shared groups have community rules: no abuse, spam or scams, and you can report content and block members.

01Spendfeed is in beta

Spendfeed is offered as a public beta. Features may be incomplete, may change or may be withdrawn, and we may reset beta-only features with notice. Please don’t rely on Spendfeed as your only record of your finances — your bank statements remain the source of truth.

02What Spendfeed is — and isn’t

Spendfeed is an expense-tracking and budgeting tool. It is not a bank, payment service, lender, broker or financial adviser, and it does not hold, move or transfer money.

Safe-to-Spend, the Horizon, affordability answers, cliff set-asides, card recommendations and reports are automated estimates calculated from the data available to Spendfeed, which may be incomplete or wrong. They are provided for your information only and are not financial, investment, tax, legal or credit advice, nor a recommendation to buy any financial product. You are responsible for your own financial decisions; for advice, consult a professional licensed in the UAE.

03Who can use Spendfeed

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. Spendfeed is for personal, non-commercial use and is designed for people managing money in the UAE.

04Your account and device

Spendfeed may not ask for a username or password; your account can be tied to your device. Keep your phone secured with a passcode, and export your data from time to time (Settings → Account & privacy → Export all data). You are responsible for activity on your account. If you lose access to your device, we may not be able to restore your account.

05Capture sources and third-party services

Spendfeed’s automatic capture relies on features and services provided by others — Apple Shortcuts automations, Android notification access, on-device text recognition, Lean Technologies for open banking, and the alerts your banks send. They are governed by their providers’ own terms, and we can’t guarantee their availability.

Banks change their message formats, devices restrict background work, and automations can be switched off. Spendfeed may therefore miss, duplicate or misread a transaction. Please review what Spendfeed captures and correct anything that’s wrong.

06Splits, groups and settle cards

Spendfeed records who owes what. It does not process payments between people: settling up happens outside Spendfeed, for example by bank transfer or cash. Detecting a transfer that settles a card is automatic but best-effort, and you can always mark a payment yourself.

You are responsible for the amounts you record and share, and for having the right to add the names and phone numbers of the people you split with. A settle-card link can be viewed by anyone who has it, so send it only to the person it’s for. Don’t use Spendfeed to harass people or to collect debts on someone else’s behalf.

Splits and groups are free and will never be part of a paid plan.

What you write in a shared group is also covered by the community rules below.

07Community rules for shared groups

Spendfeed is not a social network: groups are private and invite-only, and you only share one with people who joined through a link a member sent. Still, what you write there — comments, expense descriptions and notes, the names you use — is seen by every member of the group, and these rules apply to it.

Don’t post or add anything that is:

  • abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory or sexually explicit;
  • spam, a scam, phishing or an attempt to defraud or impersonate anyone;
  • unlawful, or someone else’s private or financial information shared without their permission;
  • a way to pressure or shame someone over money (see also “Splits, groups and settle cards” above).

Reporting and blocking

  • Report. In a group, press and hold a comment or open an expense and choose Report, then pick a reason: abusive or harassing, inappropriate, spam, scam or fraud, or something else. The content is hidden from you straight away, our team reviews reports, and the group is not told who reported it. A report holds identifiers and the reason only; it does not copy the text, and you can’t add free text to it. You can’t report your own content.
  • Block. Block a member to hide their comments and expense descriptions from you in every group. Amounts still count, so balances stay right. You can unblock them in group settings.
  • Leave or remove. A member can leave a group, or be removed from it, once their balance is zero. Blocking works at any balance.

What we may do

If content or behaviour breaks these rules, we may remove the content, remove the member from a group, and suspend or end their access to Spendfeed. Where the law requires it we may pass information to the authorities. If something can’t wait or you can’t report it in the app, write to support@spendfeed.app.

08Spendfeed Pro subscriptions

  • Spendfeed Pro is optional. Its price and what it includes are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel it in the subscription settings of the store you bought it from. On iPhone (App Store): Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Spendfeed. On Android (Google Play): open the Play Store, tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Spendfeed → Cancel subscription. Deleting the app or your Spendfeed account does not cancel it.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their policies.

09Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • break the law, or use Spendfeed to defraud, phish or impersonate anyone;
  • add other people’s financial data without their permission;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of Spendfeed, or access it in ways we don’t offer;
  • scrape, overload or disrupt Spendfeed, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
  • post content that breaks the community rules.

10Your data

You own the data you put into Spendfeed. You give us a limited permission to host, process and display it only to provide and improve Spendfeed, as described in the privacy policy; for what you write in a shared group, that includes showing it to the group’s members and removing it under the community rules. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.

11Our intellectual property

The Spendfeed name, logo, apps and designs belong to us. We give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. Bank, wallet and card names belong to their owners; Spendfeed is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

12If you got Spendfeed from the App Store

  • These terms are between you and Spendfeed, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Spendfeed or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Spendfeed.
  • If Spendfeed fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent the law allows.
  • Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to Spendfeed, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual-property infringement claims — those are ours to handle.
  • You confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13If you got Spendfeed from Google Play

  • These terms are between you and Spendfeed, not Google.
  • Your download and any purchase are also covered by Google Play’s own terms of service. Subscriptions bought there are billed and managed by Google Play (see “Spendfeed Pro subscriptions” above).

14Suspension and ending

You can stop using Spendfeed and delete your account at any time (see how). We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue Spendfeed or part of it; where we reasonably can, we will tell you in advance and give you a chance to export your data.

15Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, Spendfeed is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

16Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profits, or for fees, charges or losses arising from financial decisions made using Spendfeed’s estimates (for example overdraft or late-payment fees).

Our total liability for any claim relating to Spendfeed is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and AED 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UAE law.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Spendfeed after that means you accept the updated terms.

18Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have. Before going to court, please contact us — most problems are solved with one email.
