Support
How can we help?
Setting up Autopilot, fixing a capture, or getting your data out — it’s all here. Still stuck? Write to us; a person reads every email.
Getting started
What does Spendfeed need to track my spending automatically?
One capture source is enough to start; more sources means fewer gaps.
- iPhone: the Apple Pay automation, the bank-message automation, Screenshot Radar, or a linked bank (open banking).
- Android: notification access.
Spendfeed walks you through each one in Settings → Autopilot. Most people are done in about five minutes.
Is Spendfeed free?
Spendfeed is free to start, and splits and groups are free forever. Spendfeed Pro is an optional subscription for power features such as linking several banks, the full 90-day Horizon, card recommendations and unlimited cliffs. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
iPhone automations
How do I set up the Apple Pay automation?
- Open the Shortcuts app and go to Automation. Tap + / New Automation.
- Choose Transaction, select the Wallet cards you pay with, and leave every category selected.
- Choose Run Immediately.
- Add an action, search for Spendfeed and pick Log Apple Pay payment.
- Map each field to Shortcut Input: Amount → Amount, Merchant → Merchant, Card → Card or Pass. Tap Done.
Spendfeed’s guided setup (Settings → Autopilot → Apple Pay) does this with you and has a Test capture button. The ▶ button inside Shortcuts only sends dummy data — the first real tap-to-pay is the true test.
This automation fires when you pay with Apple Pay on iPhone or Apple Watch. Physical-card and online purchases reach Spendfeed through bank messages or open banking instead.
How do I set up the bank SMS automation?
- In Shortcuts → Automation, tap + and choose Message.
- Set Message Contains to
AEDand leave Sender empty. - Choose Run Immediately.
- Add an action, search for Spendfeed and pick Capture bank message.
- Map Message → Shortcut Input → Content, and Sender → Shortcut Input → Sender. Tap Done.
Spendfeed checks each message against bank templates on your phone. Anything that isn’t a bank transaction is discarded immediately — it is never stored or sent.
iOS shows a small banner whenever a Message automation runs. That comes from iOS, not Spendfeed, and can’t be switched off.
My bank only sends app notifications, not SMS. What now?
On iOS 27 or later, add a Notification automation: Shortcuts → Automation → + → Notification → choose your bank’s app → Run Immediately → add Spendfeed’s Capture bank message and map the message to the notification’s Body (and Title).
On earlier versions of iOS, use Screenshot Radar or link the bank through open banking.
The automation didn’t log my payment
- Open Shortcuts → Automation and check the automation is switched on and set to Run Immediately.
- Open Spendfeed once after installing or updating it, so iOS registers its actions.
- For Apple Pay, make sure the card you paid with is selected in the automation.
- Check Settings → Autopilot in Spendfeed: each source shows when it last captured something.
- Still nothing? Email us which bank and which automation — no screenshots of full card numbers, please.
What is Screenshot Radar?
Turn it on in Settings → Autopilot → Screenshot Radar and allow access to Photos. When you take a screenshot of a receipt, a payment confirmation or your banking app, Spendfeed reads it on your phone with Apple’s text recognition and logs the payment. The image never leaves your phone.
Prefer not to grant Photos access? Share any screenshot to Spendfeed from the share sheet instead — no permission needed.
Android
How do I turn on notification access?
During setup tap Enable notification access; Android opens the right screen. Find Spendfeed, allow access, and come back.
Later, it’s under Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access → Spendfeed (names vary slightly by phone maker).
Why notifications, not SMS permission?
SMS permission would let an app read every message you receive. Notification access lets Spendfeed read alerts from only the bank apps and SMS senders you pick — and it also catches banks that only send app notifications. Everything else is ignored without being stored.
Captures stop after a while or after a restart
- Settings → Apps → Spendfeed → Battery → set to Unrestricted (or turn off battery optimisation).
- On Samsung, remove Spendfeed from Sleeping apps; on Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo, allow Autostart.
- Spendfeed restarts its listener after a reboot; some phones need you to open Spendfeed once.

Missing yours? Email us one example alert with the card number and balance blacked out. Bank formats are updated without an app update, so new banks arrive quickly.
A transaction is wrong, duplicated or missing
- Tap the transaction to fix the amount, merchant or category. Spendfeed remembers your category choices.
- The same purchase often arrives twice (SMS, notification, Apple Pay); Spendfeed merges these automatically. If a duplicate slips through, delete one.
- Missing something? Type it in one line — “lunch 45” — and check Autopilot health in Settings.
- Tell us about wrong reads so we can fix the bank template for everyone.
Privacy and your data
Does my data leave my phone?
Alerts are read and understood on your phone. The structured transaction — amount, merchant, date, last four digits — syncs so it’s backed up and can power Safe-to-Spend and splits. The redacted message text stays on your phone. OTPs, full card numbers, CVVs, Emirates ID numbers and IBANs are stripped before anything is stored or sent. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I export my data?
Settings → Account & privacy → Export all data (JSON). You’ll get a file with everything on your phone plus what our servers hold for you.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account & privacy → Delete account, on iPhone and Android. No app any more? See Delete your account for the email route.
Splits and settle cards
Does my friend need Spendfeed?
No. They get a link — usually on WhatsApp — showing first names and the amount, and they pay you by bank transfer as usual. If they install Spendfeed, your shared groups sync both ways.
How does a card settle itself?
When your friend’s transfer lands and Spendfeed captures it, Spendfeed matches the amount and sender to the open card and marks it settled. You can always mark a payment yourself, in full or in part.
The settle-card link says it has expired
Cards expire after 30 days so amounts don’t linger online. Open the split in Spendfeed and share a fresh card.
Subscriptions
How do I restore Spendfeed Pro on a new phone?
Settings → Spendfeed Pro → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID (iPhone) or Google account (Android) you subscribed with.
How do I cancel Spendfeed Pro?
On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Spendfeed → Cancel Subscription. On Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Spendfeed → Cancel subscription. Deleting the app or your Spendfeed account does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play).
